     Girls like Girls
Notes
This is honestly the longest oneshot I've ever written, and It took
maybe four days. I honestly have no idea how.
But man I had so much fun writing this??
By the way, my lovely friend Destiny was so kind as to beta read this
for me. Seriously, she saved my life I can't thank you enough, Des.
     <3
Also!! Destiny drew some pretty rad art of Fem!Yuu in a slightly
altered version of an outfit I pictured she'd wear.
Mikaela sighed, changing back into the leggings and loose t-shirt she had been
longing to wear again since the moment she had started cheer practice this
morning. She was tired; and wearing leggings as pants was her only solace.

She pulled her hair into a messy ponytail and stepped out of the locker room.
Mikaela almost jumped when her boyfriend at the time, Ferid, approached her
side, throwing an arm around her shoulder.

“Mika,” He cooed, pulling her close-- closer than she was really comfortable
with. Not that she was going to say anything about it, however. “Are you going
to come to Lacus’ party this weekend?”

She almost sighed at the idea of going to yet another house party.

“I don’t know…” She trailed off, pursing her lips as she approached her locker.

“Please? For me? The entire football team is going to be there. It’s going to
be awesome,” Ferid gave her his best puppy dog eyes and she sighed. Not that
she would ever tell Ferid this, since there were many things she didn’t want to
tell him, but the mere idea of the entire football team going was something
that interested her.

If the whole football team was going, that meant that Yuuichirou was going too.

A lot of things in her life felt complicated, but one thing was assured;
Yuuichirou was definitely one of the most interesting things in her life. More
so than Ferid, school, or even cheerleading. And cheerleading was one of the
most important and interesting things in her life besides school.

She had no idea how to explain it. Sure, they had been friends since they could
talk, but she knew for a fact that platonic love wasn't the way to explain it.

As for what it was, she hadn’t a clue.

But Mikaela was determined to spend more time with her to figure out just how
she felt about the dark-haired quarterback.

“Alright, I’ll go,” she finally said, after taking far too long to decide. By
Ferid’s standards, at least.

“Good. I was beginning to think you were going to bail. Wear something nice.”
With that, Ferid kissed her cheek, and squeezed her butt before finally walking
off.

Mikaela sighed in relief at his departure, and opened her locker to retrieve
her things and head to class. She hoped that she wouldn’t be late, since
talking with Ferid had taken far too long for her liking. Being late wasn’t
something that she needed to add to her list of issues. The first being this
party Ferid had coaxed her into attending.

Shutting her locker, she turned and was met with the face of her childhood
friend. Mikaela yelped upon seeing her, jumping back slightly.

“Hey Mika. I'm sorry I scared you,” Yuuichirou said, biting her bottom lip as
she studied Mikaela’s features.

“It's fine,” Mikaela assured, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear
before adjusting her books in her arms. Despite the need to rush to class so it
was assured that she wouldn't be late, she’d always attempt to find a moment to
spare when it came to Yuuichirou.

“Can I…” Yuuichirou trailed off a bit, eyes flitting down to Mikaela’s lips for
a brief moment before returning to her bright blue eyes. “Can I walk you to
class?”

Mikaela didn't even need to give it a second thought. She gave a short nod in
agreement almost immediately.

“Yes, of course,” Mikaela answered, offering a smile to the other girl before
stepping forward, effectively leading the way for them.

Yuuichirou followed by Mikaela’s side, books cradled in her arms.

“So, are you going to Lacus’ party this weekend?” Yuuichirou questioned,
glancing over at the blonde.

“I am.”

“Really?” Yuuichirou chimed, looking at Mikaela excitedly.

“Yeah, Ferid came before you could and convinced me to go,” Mikaela admitted.

“I see.” Yuuichirou nodded, slowly ascending the stairs. She squished a bit
closer as they passed a large group of people that refused to walk behind one
another. Which was annoying in itself, but the fact that Yuuichirou was now
pressed against Mika’s side as they climbed the stairs made her face feel hot.
But she ignored it, in favor of focusing on getting to class.

One would think that Mikaela would have gotten used to being so close to her
friend, but over time she found herself becoming more and more flustered.

But she was stuck in this relationship with Ferid, and really, she had no idea
how to see herself out of it.

She was ripped from her thoughts as Yuuichirou stopped in front of her
classroom, and turned. Mikaela just about ran into her.

“You alright there, Mika?” Yuuichirou asked, a concerned look washing over her
face.

“Yeah I’m fine, sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” Mikaela admitted. Though she
would never admit why exactly she wasn’t paying attention. She certainly wasn’t
going to make Yuuichirou think she ran into her on purpose.

“You should pay more attention, Mika. Anyways, I need to get to class. I'll see
you at lunch, maybe?”

“At lunch, yeah,” Mikaela managed, giving a short wave before stepping inside
her classroom.

_________

Mikaela sat down beside Yuuichirou with a sigh. Now was one time she could
finally get away from dealing with Ferid. She couldn’t believe she was avoiding
her boyfriend in order to ask for advice on how to break up with said boyfriend
from the person she was starting to feel some sort of feelings for.

She had a feeling this would be messy.

“I don’t know what to do,” She complained, throwing her head back against the
wall she was sat in front of with a groan. “If I break up with him, then I’ll
have to see him every day, and have to deal with that awkwardness for the rest
of this year. But if I don’t? I’ll have to continue to deal with his weird
advances. Like touching my butt and weird ways of him trying to get me to have
sex with him that I’m not really comfortable with, in all honesty.”

Yuuichirou frowned. Internally, she was fuming that Ferid would put Mikaela
through something like that, but on the outside she tried to seem chill about
the situation. Like she actually knew what she was talking about.

“Mika, if you’re not happy with him, then you should get out. Awkwardness is
far better than being pressured into having sex with him,” She stated, and
glanced over at her friend, popping a grape into her mouth.

Mikaela sighed, running her fingers through her hair. A nervous habit of hers.
She looked at her dark-haired friend in return.

“You’re right,” She admitted. “I’m… going to do it now.”

It was a brave statement. And she planned on going through with it. Her mind
was made up and there was no avoiding it now. Even though she wanted to.

“I’ll be right behind you,” Yuuichirou gave a soft smile, standing up with
Mikaela and following her over to where Ferid was, just like she said she
would.

“I’m sorry, this just… isn’t working. I know you have a lot of things you want.
Like sex. But I can’t. I don’t want to have sex with you, and I don’t really
want to be in a relationship with you either.”

Ferid took it rather well. Which, was rather surprising to Mikaela, but she was
able to walk away, and over to Yuuichirou feeling rather alright about the
whole situation.

“That went… rather well, actually,” Mikaela said, surprise clear in her tone.
“I mean, I’ve never broken up with anyone, so I think it did?”

“I think you did really well. I mean, I’m sorry that the relationship didn’t,
and that you ended up breaking up with him, but hopefully you find someone
better.” Yuuichirou offered in some sort of optimism.

Mikaela nodded.

It was Mikaela’s choice. Of course it was, but Yuuichirou could only imagine
the way she’d treat the blonde if she had the honor of dating her. If only.

Suddenly, she was thinking about those lips again. Those pretty pink lips that
made Yuuichirou want nothing more than to press her own to-- to kiss Mikaela
until neither of them could breathe.

She really needed to stop thinking about those lips. They were becoming
intoxicating to think about.

Clearing her throat, Yuuichirou tried to focus on something else. Such as
trying to provide some sort of comfort for the blonde. She could tell that even
though breaking up with Ferid may have been for the best, she was still upset.

“Are you free this evening?” She questioned.

“Yeah, why?” Mikaela glanced over at her, tucking a strand of hair behind her
ear.

“Well, I was thinking maybe you could help me with the last bit of training
that I have after school? And then we could go get comfort ice cream. My treat,
of course.”

Mikaela thought it over for a moment before nodding, letting a smile tug at her
lips.

“I’d love to, that sounds wonderful, actually, I could definitely go for some
comfort ice cream,” Mikaela admitted, and offered a smile to the other girl.

“Alright. Meet me at my gym at like, four maybe? You know the one, right?”

“Yeah. I know the one. Four it is then.”

__________

Pulling open the glass door to the gym, Mikaela stepped inside. She took a
moment to look around, since it wasn’t quite four just yet. It was three fifty,
to be exact and, really, Mikaela wasn’t sure when it was too early or if being
just a little early was fine.

After a minute or two of wandering around, she went to where she knew she’d
find Yuuichirou.

“Hey,” She said, and shifted in place, watching as Yuuichirou’s gaze fell on
her, finally.

“Hey Mika, sorry I didn’t notice you,” Yuuichirou said, and gave a nervous
chuckle before taking a few steps to approach the blonde.

“You’re fine,” Mikaela said all too quickly, and brought her hands back behind
her, interlocking her own index fingers behind her. “Shall we get started?”

Yuuichirou, as if not paying attention, suddenly realized what Mikaela
suggested, and nods.

“Yeah, let’s, um.. you can sit on my back while I do push ups? If you’d like? I
mean you don’t have to, if you don’t want to; you can just sit on the sidelines
and cheer me on, if you’d like?” Yuuichirou spluttered, looking at the ground
nervously. Mikaela couldn’t help but giggle just the tiniest bit. The
quarterback’s nervousness about asking Mikaela to sit on her back while she did
push ups was something that Mikaela found incredibly endearing.

“I’m fine with it,” Mikaela said. She wanted to reach out, and touch the other
girl’s cheek, let her fingers wander to Yuuichirou’s lips-- to learn what they
felt like. She briefly wondered what Yuuichirou’s lips might feel like against
her own.

However, she kept her hands to herself and watched silently as Yuuichirou got
in the position to do pushups. She scolded herself internally for her thoughts.
She had broken up with Ferid only a few hours ago and here she was, already
thinking of what it might be like to kiss her best friend.

Carefully, since she was afraid of hurting Yuuichirou in some way, even though
she already knew the girl was quite strong, she climbed onto the other girl’s
back. After she had removed her shoes, of course.

“Alright, ready?” Yuuichirou asked.

“Yeah,” Mikaela breathed.

Yuuichirou lowered herself to the ground before hefting herself back up.

Mikaela knew that Yuuichirou was strong. She had to be when she was the
quarterback of their school’s football team. If she was out of shape, she’d be
no use to them. But Mikaela had little idea of what the dark-haired girl was
capable until this moment. Sure, Mikaela didn’t weigh very much, but surely she
provided a certain amount of difficulty when it came to carrying someone on the
other’s back.

“You’re strong,” She remarked, like it was something that was actually a
surprise to her. Which it wasn’t completely the case.

Yuuichirou gave a slightly strained laugh, before lowering herself close to the
ground.

“Why are you laughing?” Mikaela questioned.

“Are you just realizing this?” Yuuichirou asked in return.

“I mean, kinda?” Mikaela remarked sheepishly. “I knew you were strong, but not
this strong, I guess? Push ups are hard enough on their own. I can’t imagine
doing them with someone who weighs over a hundred pounds on my back.”

“Practice makes perfect, I guess.”

“Yeah, I guess.”

Yuuichirou continued like that until her arms started to get sore, and she
officially stated that her workout had come to an end.

“Time for ice cream?” Mikaela asked excitedly, perking up when she remembered
that Yuuichirou had said she was going to buy her ice cream. She didn’t indulge
in many sweets, but when she did, it was usually ice cream.

It was her certified guilty pleasure. Especially when emotional distress was
involved. If any other girl was allowed to eat her feelings, she was too. Even
if she couldn’t do it all the time.

“Time for ice cream,” Yuuichirou agreed. “Let me go shower so I'm not sweaty
and gross though, I'll be right back.”

With that, Yuuichirou turned and made her way to the showers. She didn't take
long, thankfully; and when she was done, she practically ran out to meet
Mikaela. She didn't want to keep her waiting.

“Ready?” Mikaela asked, ready to stand up.

And Yuuichirou was this time.

“Ready,” She agreed. They soon left together, walking side by side.

Feeling daring, about halfway to the ice cream shop, she reached down, and to
Mikaela’s hand, interlocking their pinkies together.

“Is this okay?” She asked, glancing over at the blonde when they were stopped
at a crosswalk.

“It's more than okay, Yuu-chan,” Mikaela breathed. She never minded when
Yuuichirou would hold her hand when they were children, and she certainly
wasn't going to mind now. Whether they were actually holding hands completely,
or just holding pinkies.

In fact, she’d never get tired of any sort of affection from Yuuichirou.
Whether she considered it platonic or not. But since she doubted Yuuichirou
felt any romantic feelings for her, she’d consider it platonic for sure.

Then again, Mikaela wasn't even sure how she felt about her friend exactly.
Really, she had no idea what they were at this point.

“I'm glad.” Yuuichirou breathed out with a small smile. “I know you didn't mind
it as kids, but I didn't want to just go and do something you’d feel
uncomfortable with now, I should have asked; but it's too late now and I'm
sorry about that.”

“It's fine,” Mikaela starts. “You don't need to ask, and you can hold my hand
pretty much whenever when it's just us.”

Yuuichirou pursed her lips, thinking over what Mikaela had just told her. She
was allowed to hold Mikaela’s hand whenever she wanted while they were alone
together.

And she didn't even have to ask.

“Noted.” Yuuichirou said as they approach the ice cream shop. Mikaela’s pinky
slips from her grasp when he goes and holds open the door for the blonde.

“Thank you,” Mikaela said, and offers a smile in her best friend’s direction.

“It's my pleasure,” Yuuichirou said in return, and lead the way to the counter,
where her head tilts upwards as she browsed over the countless different
options the shop had. Mikaela follows suit.

“There's so many options,” she breathes, and Yuuichirou hums in agreement.

“Go ahead and pick whatever you’d like. Don't be shy about the toppings.”

Mikaela pursed her lips, but nodded. It wasn't until she remembered something
that she got an idea, as cheesy as it may have been.

“Um,” She trailed off, trying to find the words to ask Yuuichirou what she
would have liked to ask her. But she was nervous.

“Yes?” Yuuichirou’s gaze fell on the blonde, and she tilted her to the side.
Looking much like a confused puppy. Which Mikaela found to be quite endearing.

“Would you maybe want to share a milkshake?” The moment the words left her
mouth, she regretted them completely. She wanted to take them back, but she
knew it was far too late for that now.

“Sure,” Yuuichirou replied. In fact, she was ecstatic to share a milkshake with
the blonde. She could scratch that off of the list of things she would have
liked to do, but never believed she could actually pull off. “What flavor?”

Mikaela was surprised, to say the least. The first reason she really had,
besides shock, was to reach over to her arm, and pinch herself.

Yes, this was indeed, reality. She wasn't dreaming, or hallucinating. She was
really here, and really about to share a milkshake with Yuuichirou Ichinose.

“Chocolate?” She finally managed, and Yuuichirou agreed. Though, Mikaela knew
that was the quarterback’s least favorite flavor.

When it was her turn, Yuuichirou stepped forward to order for the two of them
while Mikaela found a place to sit. She found an elevated table, and climbed up
onto it. It gave her a half-decent view of the place and she was able to spot
Yuuichirou, getting their milkshake and heading to the table she had picked
out.

“Here we go,” Yuuichirou said in a sing-song voice as she sat down, sliding the
milkshake in between the two of them.

“Thank you, Yuu-chan,” Mikaela said, and offers a soft smile, hand reaching out
to touch the bottom of the cup the milkshake was in. Then she leaned forward
and took a sip. Which, as she realized, proved to be ineffective she was only
able to get the tiniest bit out of the straw and that was when she sucked hard.

Huffing a bit, the blonde pulled away, the corners of her mouth turned
downwards in a frustrated scowl directed at the cup.

“It not coming out?” Yuuichirou questioned, lips turned upwards as she watched
the blond’s fruitless effort to drink the milkshake.

“No,” Mikaela said, pouting down at the dessert that had betrayed her.

“We should probably wait a bit before trying to drink it. Otherwise I don’t
think we’ll get very far. Unless you want to just get spoons?” Yuuichirou
suggested, and ran her fingers through her hair, pushing it away from her face.

“Spoons would probably make things easier. I don’t really feel like waiting,”
Mikaela admitted, and pushed her chair out, hopping off of it. “I’ll go get
them, though, you stay here.”

Yuuichirou wanted to protest, but Mikaela was already gone and heading to the
counter by the time she opened her mouth to do so. Instead, she watched as her
friend walked away, and got spoons for the two of them. She ripped her eyes
away from the blonde as she came back, and hopped up onto her chair again.

“Here you go,” She said, and offered a smile to the other girl as she held out
the second spoon.

“Thank you.” Yuuichirou took the spoon, offering a smile of her own into return
before she dug the spoon into the ice cream. She took the spoonful into her
mouth and hummed.

“No problem,” At this, Mikaela flips her hair out of the way, and joins
Yuuichirou in enjoying the milkshake.

They eat in silence, before an idea pops into Yuichirou’s head, and she shovels
some ice cream onto her spoon before extending it towards the blonde. “Here.
Open your mouth.”

Mikaela obeys, opening her mouth and allowing Yuuichirou to place the spoon
inside.

Yuuichirou can’t help but stare at Mikaela’s lips as she closed them around the
spoon. She knew she shouldn’t, but those lips were too tempting.

Staring was something she really needed to stop doing.

“Do I have something on my face?” Mikaela asked after she had swallowed,
clearly concerned with the fact that Yuuichirou was staring at her. She tried
to seem like she wasn’t embarrassed.

“Oh,” Yuuichirou breathed out nervously, ripping her gaze from the blonde. She
had been caught. “No. I’m sorry.”

“It’s fine...”

They ate in silence, the both of them peeking up from the milkshake to steal
glances at each other.

“Thank you for this, by the way, I really appreciate you being there for me,”
Mikaela said, setting her spoon down once she had had enough.

“No problem,” Yuuichirou said, offering a smile to the blonde. “That’s what
friends are for, right?”

“Right.” Mikaela tilts her head to the side just the slightest, returning the
smile. “I should probably head home now, but I’m glad I got to hang out with
you for a few hours.”

“I’m glad too, it’s always nice to spend time with you,” Yuuichirou said. She
meant it. Though they didn’t get to spend an immense amount of time together,
she still savored the times that they were able to spend time together.

“You too.” Mikaela stood up, throwing their empty plastic cup, as well as their
forks away. She then turns and holds out her arms for a hug.

Yuuichirou accepts the invitation, and pulls the blonde into a brief hug. She
savored what she could before Mikaela eventually pulled away and turned to
leave.

“See you at the party!” She called, waving.

Mikaela had almost forgotten about the party. That’s when an idea popped into
Yuuichirou’s head. She grabbed her things and sprinted towards Mikaela.

“Hey!” Yuuichirou called, causing Mikaela to turn around, an arched eyebrow
raising in her direction.

“Yes?”

Yuuichirou swallowed the nervousness that had begun to fester in her throat,
and gathered up her courage as she stared into Mikaela’s impossibly blue eyes.
Sure, she was the quarterback for their school’s football team, but she had a
tendency to be nervous; just like any other person. People often forgot that
sometimes.

“Would you maybe want to come and sleep over the night before the party? We can
head up together, or whatever, my parents are heading out of town that night
anyways so they’ll be none the wiser to you sleeping over, as long as they
don’t figure out that we’re going to a party.”

Mikaela seemed to think it over for a moment before nodding.
“Yeah, I’d like that,” She said. “I’ll be there at six?”

“Six it is.” Yuuichirou cheered. “Come with an empty stomach, Shinya is making
lasagna.”

Mikaela sighed, almost dreamily at the thought.

“Noted, I’ve missed his cooking... tell them hello for me!”

Yuuichirou nodded.

“I will, I’ll see you later then.” She said and with that, Mikaela was off
again.

Yuuichirou hated to see her go... but loved watching her leave.

__________

Mikaela was packed days before she was even supposed to go to Yuuichirou’s. She
wanted to be ready, and there was no stopping her motivation to make sure that
she was.

So when six rolled around and Krul drove her to the quarterback’s house, she
was sure she hadn’t forgotten anything.

Phone?

Check.

Charger?

Double Check.

Everything else she’d need?

Triple check.

She grabbed her bag from the back seat before closing the car door behind her.

“Have fun, Mika!” Krul offered a small smile, waving as Mikaela walked up to
the front door of the home

“I will! Thank you, ma’” She waved in return to Krul, before turning and
knocking on the door.

Mahiru opened the door almost immediately and she was half convinced that she
had been waiting for her there.

“Hello, Mika, you made it just in time.” Mahiru greeted. “Shinya just took the
lasagna out of the oven, come in,” She said, and stepped to the side to let the
blonde enter.

“Thank you,” She paused, taking a deep breath. “It smells wonderful… thanks for
letting me stay over.”

“It’s no biggy, you’re always welcome here.” With that, she gave Mikaela a
quick hug before excusing her to place her things in Yuuichirou’s room.

Approaching the door, Mikaela gave two soft knocks.

“Come in,” Yuuichirou’s voice came from the other side of the door and Mikaela
reached down, gripping the doorknob before turning it and pushing.

“Hey,” Mikaela said, shutting the door behind her before she took a few steps
forward. She slid her backpack off her shoulder and dropped it on the ground so
it was leaning against the wall.

“Hey,” Yuuichirou offered a smile at the blonde before standing up. “Wanna head
downstairs? Mahiru texted me to tell me the lasagna was done, they’re going to
leave soon, so we can have some time to ourselves when they do.”

Mikaela nodded. “Lead the way.”

Yuuichirou took Mikaela’s hand gently and lead her downstairs to where her
parents were already eating dinner.

“So, you finally decided to join us,” Guren remarked and Yuuichirou huffed.

“Oh shush, I wanted to wait ‘til Mika got here,” Yuuichirou said, grabbing a
glass before filling it nearly to the brim with milk.

Guren seemed to squint at her daughter before returning to her food.

Mikaela was somewhat glad that the conversation didn’t progress past then and,
instead, she placed a piece of lasagna onto a plate that had been set out for
her and retrieved a fork. She waited until Yuuichirou had gotten some food as
well and was going to go sit down before actually sitting down.

“This is delicious, thank you, Shinya,” She said, offering a smile in the
woman’s direction before returning to her food.

“No problem Mika, I’m glad you like it.”

It was then that she glanced at the time and stood up abruptly.

“Shoot, we best be going, we were supposed to have left by now.” She said,
turning to the two girls. “Will you two clean up? We don’t have much time
to...”

“Yeah, sure.” Mikaela said and all three of them seemed to sigh with relief. “I
mean, you’re letting me stay here for the weekend, it’s the least I can do.”

“I’ll help-” Yuuichirou started but Mikaela shook her head.

“I’m fine with doing the dishes.” The blonde insisted and took another bite of
her food.

“Alright, thank you, we love you guys, take care and make sure to lock the
doors before you go to bed!” Mahiru chimed, grabbing her shoes before she was
ushered out the door.

“Bye guys! Love you too!” Yuuichirou waved as she got up to shut and lock the
door behind the three of them. Because naturally, they forgot.

Yuuichirou sighed but didn’t immediately return to the table. Instead, she went
upstairs for a brief moment, coming back with a bottle of whisky.

“Care for some?” She asked, turning to the blond. “Since I’m going to be
driving tomorrow, and can’t drink, I want to at least get some in this
weekend.”

Mikaela pursed her lips, debating on it before she nodded.

“Just a little bit,” She said, standing up now that she was finished with her
food. She made her way to the sink and tied her hair up with a stray hairband
she kept on her wrist in case she needed one; because in most cases, she did.
Especially when it came to hot summer days when the thickness of her hair left
her neck covered in a layer of sweat.

“A little bit it is,” Yuuichirou declared, before grabbing two glasses, and
setting them on the counter. While Mikaela did the dishes and put the leftover
food away, Yuuichirou mixed their drinks.

“Here you go,” Yuuichirou held out Mikaela’s glass once she had finished and
dried her hands afterwards.

“Thank you,” Mikaela said, lips turning up into a soft smile before she brought
the glass to her lips and took a small sip at first, testing the waters.

“No problem.”

With that, Yuuichirou takes a sip of her drink as well, and sighed.

“Alright, what do you want to do?” She asked, and set her glass down on the
counter before her.

“We could watch movies?” Mikaela suggested, clutching her drink close, nursing
it.

“What kind?” Yuuichirou tilted her head the tiniest bit, thinking over the
different possibilities when it came to movies. They had an impressive looking
collection, which meant if they were watching movies for the rest of the
evening, they weren’t going to run out of movies to watch.

“Disney movies?” Mikaela suggested with a shrug. “Do you have Moana?”

“We do, in fact.”

“Can we watch that first, then?” Mikaela asked, and took another sip. She’d
seen it before, but she’d never get sick of the movie. It was a good movie.

“Of course,” Yuuichirou grinned and gestured to the large television in the
living room. “I’ll get the blankets and other stuff if you get the movie and
put it in the player and also pop popcorn.” She paused. “Make sure to get as
many snacks as possible, too.”

“Deal.”

With that, Mikaela placed a bag of popcorn in the microwave and made her way to
the bookshelf filled with countless movies. Picking out the specific movie she
wanted was slightly difficult, but she eventually found it and put it in the
DVD player.

It took a while to get everything ready, but when they had finally finished,
the sun was already starting to set. Not that they could really tell, with all
the curtains pulled over the windows so they wouldn’t get a glare as they tried
to enjoy the movie.

The two of them sat by side, drinking in hand. Mikaela was farther into hers
than Yuuichirou was. Even though she should be pacing herself if she’s drinking
two nights in a row.

Pursing her lips, Mikaela leaned over a bit so she was pressed against Yuu, her
head on the quarterback’s shoulder.

“Do you mind?”

“Not at all.”

Their voices were hushed, saving the loud talking for when they weren’t
watching movies.

Mikela relaxed at that and tucked her legs under her.

As Mikaela’s favorite music number finally a came along, she was thoroughly
surprised when Yuuichirou started to sing along.

“ See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me,” Yuuichirou sang,
clutching her chest dramatically. She set down her drink and stood, extending a
hand out to Mikaela. “And no one knows, how far it goes.”

Mikaela gawked, watching as her best friend belted out notes that she had no
idea Yuuichirou could pull off. It took her far longer than she would have
liked to admit to join Yuuichirou.

“I know everybody on this island has a role on this island, so maybe I can roll
with mine,” Mikaela chimed in, and stood, taking Yuuichirou’s hand

Yuuichirou continued with the next verse. And eventually, they were belting out
the notes together, even if Mikaela didn’t feel all that confident in her
singing abilities. Though, their singing was interrupted, with Mikaela giggling
when Yuuichirou started to lead them around the living room, and spun the
blonde.

Even when the song ended, neither Yuuichirou, nor Mikaela could bring
themselves to pull away from one another. It was then Mikaela realized just how
she felt about her best friend.

No matter how hard she may have tried to deny it in the past, there was
absolutely no way she could honestly say that she felt only platonic feelings
for Yuuichirou.

Maybe it was wrong for her to allow herself to be so close to Yuuichirou when
she felt like this. But at the moment, she allowed her to indulge in this
feeling of being close while she could.

She was deathly afraid of Yuuichirou figuring things out and casting her out of
her life for the way she felt. Even going so far as tell people at school.
Though it seemed like something she wouldn’t do, Mikaela could never rule out
the possibility.

It wasn’t until the movie was most of the way through that they sat back down,
and for the rest of the movie as well as the next, Mikaela laid her head in
Yuuichirou’s lap while the dark-haired girl played with her hair.

Yuuichirou was the first to fall asleep, pressed up against Mikaela and the
back of the couch. And Mikaela would have fallen asleep if not for the fact
that her heart was pounding. Here she was, so close and yet so, so far away
from the person she had liked for so long without realizing.

Cautiously, she brought a hand up, and wrapped her arm around Yuu, scooting
just a bit closer in order to bring her forehead forward to rest against Yuu’s
chest.

Mikaela bit her bottom lip as Yuuichirou stirred, but didn’t wake up.

This was a stupid idea. Likely the most stupidest idea she had to date. But
here she was, doing it anyways.

She whined softly, as she took in the feeling of getting to hold Yuu.

It was a fleeting moment, one she could only guess that would last a limited
time. So she savored it. Savored the feelings she felt towards Yuuichirou that
she’d never be able to share. Until she ultimately fell asleep.

Yuuichirou was the first to wake up, and after slowly maneuvering herself from
Mikaela’s grasp, she kissed the top of her head and got up to go make
breakfast. Or to attempt to, at least, seeing as she wasn’t the best of cooks.

For now, she’d stick to something simple and allow Mikaela to sleep.

It didn't last long, however, because as she was scrambling eggs to put in with
her rice, Mikaela came into the kitchen, rubbing her eyes tiredly.

“Morning,” She murmured, and sat down at the counter, resting her head on it.

“Morning sleeping beauty, sleep well?” Yuuichirou asked teasingly and turned,
dumping the now-finished eggs into her bowl of rice. Luckily, she had thought
ahead to make extras for Mikaela as well as herself. Knowing the blonde, she’d
be hungry for something. It didn't really matter what.

“Mmm, yeah,” She hums and Yuuichirou takes that moment to look at Mikaela.
She’d never be able to get over just how soft that hair of hers was, or how
brightly Mikaela smiled when she thought no one was looking and she found
something funny.

Mikaela was a real sight to behold and never in a million years did Yuuichirou
think she’d ever have the luck of getting to talking to, let alone be best
friends with.

Reality had been all too kind to her and somehow, that could concerned her. It
felt almost too good to be true. There had to be some sort of catch that she
would realize, if she ever got up the courage to confess to Mikaela. Which she
wasn't sure she’d ever do.

As she thought, she got out a separate bowl for Mikaela, and shoveled some of
the rice and eggs with ham into it. When she finished, she returned to her
thoughts.

Mikaela took agonizingly slow spoonfuls, savoring the taste while she tried to
wake herself up.

“How long have you been up?” She asks, and looks up at the quarterback, who had
a mouthful of food waiting to be chewed.

Yuuichirou held up a finger-- a clear sign of ‘give me a moment’ that Mikaela
understood perfectly. She was trying to break out of her habit of talking with
her mouth full. That time was one of the many times so far that Yuuichirou had
succeeded in waiting until she had swallowed to speak.

“Not long,” Yuuichirou finally said. “Maybe about twenty minutes before you? It
was enough time to make breakfast, at least.”

“Yeah, the pots banging is pretty much what woke me up, and the fact that I was
cold...” Mikaela murmured sleepily.

“You had blankets last time I checked?” Yuuichirou raised an eyebrow at the
blonde. She could remember having several blankets on the couch over the both
of them.

“You’re warmer,” Mikaela mumbled again. It seemed that her filter that she
usually used to keep stuff like that from slipping out had crumbled away. Along
with her sober attitude during the night and apparently, her dignity.

“Ah,” Yuuichirou breathed, staring down at the counter she stood before. “You
did cuddle me like, all night I think.”

If Mikaela wasn't awake before, she certainly was now. She’d forgotten about
that, even mentioning it moments before. It had just slipped out without a
second thought.

“Ah, that…” Mikaela trailed off, nervously moving her spoon around in her bowl
as she tried to come up with a decent excuse. “Sorry about that, I guess I'm
cuddly when I sleep?”

“It's fine, I don't mind at all,” Yuuichirou admitted. It was the truth. In
fact, she’d give anything to wake up to the blond practically laying on top of
her. In an innocent way, of course. Really, she was sure at this point of her
romantic feelings, but sexual stuff wasn't something she thought about. She
just wanted to hold the blonde close and never let go. If stuff like sex came
up in the meantime, then so be it.

Mikaela nodded, though she still felt embarrassed about having cuddled her
friend in her sleep. Deciding that silence was the best way to end the
conversation, she continued to eat, stealing occasional glances towards
Yuuichirou.

What had her life come to?

Pining over her best friend and embarrassing herself, apparently.

“Thank you for breakfast,” Mikaela said after she’s finished her meal. She
stood up to rinse off her dishes.

“No problem,” Yuuichirou said and offered a smile to the other girl.

“We have some time to kill before the party, what would you want to do?”

Mikaela shrugs. “I dunno.”

So, they spend the next hour figuring out what to do before they eventually
decide to just start getting ready. Since makeup takes time and neither of them
wanted to be getting ready at the last minute.

“Hey,” Yuuichirou called over as Mikaela was reaching behind her, clasping her
bra. “So I was thinking we could go grab something to eat before we actually go
to the party?”

Mikaela nodded. “That sounds good I'll pay this time since you bought our
milkshake the other day.”

Yuuichirou was about to open her mouth to argue against it, but instead she
found Mikaela in front of her, pressing a finger to her lips to stop her from
saying anything. Her face felt hot and all thoughts of talking back to the
blonde were flushed from her mind.

“It's on me,” She insisted once again, and Yuuichirou nodded, far too
dumbfounded to protest.

Mikaela pulled away, and Yuuichirou let out a shaky breath.

“Oh my god…” She breathed.

Mikaela turned to look at Yuuichirou, hearing her say something but not knowing
exactly what she had said.

“You alright?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I'm fine!” Yuuichirou blurted out all too quickly, standing up straight in an
instant. She tried to keep her eyes glued to the ground but she couldn't help
but allow her eyes to wander a bit.

Mikaela furrowed her eyebrows together, as if she was trying to see if she was
lying. If she thought that Yuuichirou was lying, she didn't say a word about
it.

Instead, she turned back around and finally pulled on a shirt. Or, a half of
one, at least. Yuuichirou tried not to stare, but the way Mika’s body looked in
the miniskirt and fishnets that she wore made her head spin.

Her best friend was so gorgeous, it should have been illegal.

It felt a bit unfair that she was the only one actually wearing pants, but
she had also never been one to wear lots of skirts and such. That was always
Mikaela. Not that she was complaining, really, because Yuuichirou enjoyed being
able to see the blonde in those kinds of clothing.

“Is this skirt pulled down enough to cover my butt and stuff when I bend over?”
Mikaela asked and Yuuichirou pursed her lips. Mikaela was already bent over.
She may have wanted to look sexy, but she also didn’t want to show everyone
what her panties looked like. Not like some girls who took off their clothes
for anyone. She had no disrespect towards people who did that kind of thing,
but Mikaela was definitely not one of them.

“Uh, no,” Yuuichirou started but swallowed thickly around the nervousness in
her throat. “It’s up a little too high.”

Mikaela stood up, offering a smile to the other girl as she pulled her skirt
down farther. “Thank you.”

“No problem,” Yuuichirou let out a nervous laugh, before turning to the mirror
she was going to use to apply her makeup. Licking her lips, she tore her eyes
away from Mikaela’s figure, and focused on her makeup.

A silence fell over them as they both worked on their makeup, especially when
Mikaela applied her fake eyelashes. She had never been good at talking while
applying fake eyelashes. Mikaela hummed as she ran a brush through her already
wavy hair. She wasn’t going to do much with it for the party, which was a
relief. Because as much as she loved her hair, a lot of the time she had no
idea what to do with it. It was naturally curly so she could easily look like
she spent a rather large chunk of her time on her hair when she really only
spent a few minutes on it.

When Yuuichirou finished, she sat down on her bed and sighed.

“That sigh is relatable. Really, you are the only reason I’m actually still
going to this party. You and alcohol,” Mikaela gives a soft laugh, and ran her
fingers through her hair when she finally finished with everything. Mostly
everything, at least. Putting on lipstick would have to wait until she brushed
her teeth.

“I was mostly forced into it because the entire team is going and I was told I
would be lame if I didn’t go; peer pressure is a terrible thing but I’m glad
you’re coming, it’ll make things less boring.”

“Oh?”

“I mean, if I was there with the team I’d be doing nothing, I’m not getting
drunk so the most I’d have to do is avoid looking at the people who think it’s
okay to practically have sex in the corners of the rooms.”

“That… is honestly fair,” Mikaela paused to get up and sit beside Yuuichirou
before continuing. “If I was still with Ferid, he’d probably try to pressure me
into having sex with him.”

“I don’t think I’ve mentioned this, but I really want to punch him for doing
stuff like that to you.”

Mikaela snorted, leaning against her friend.

“I don’t think you have either, but I don’t really blame you, he’s a jerk.”

“Agreed.”

They stayed like that for a few moments, with Yuuichirou slowly wrapping an arm
around Mikaela’s waist, neither of them wanting to pull away. They wanted to
savor this moment for as long as they possibly could, because the rest of the
night would be hectic and Mikaela planned on drinking a lot.

Not that Yuuichirou minded, because after this week, Mikaela deserved to get
away for a little bit. Let go of the woes of all that week and the breakup
Mikaela had been through.

But it didn’t last as long as Yuuichirou might have liked. Because the party
was starting soon and they had yet to go eat before they were supposed to be
there.

They both put their shoes on and headed out.

“What do you want to get?” Mikaela asked, standing at the counter to the fast
food place they had stopped at.

“Just a burger, I guess?” Yuuichirou shrugged. “Surprise me.”

With that, Yuuichirou walked over to a booth, and slipped into it. Leaving
Mikaela to bring their food to it.

As Mikaela sat down, she popped a fry into her mouth.

“Here we are.”

Neither girl said much as they eat. Until Mikaela threw a fry at Yuuichirou
without warning, and the quarterback caught it in her mouth.

“You’re good,” Mikaela remarked, before throwing another one that the dark-
haired girl also caught.

“I have to be, I play football; If I don’t pay attention, then we lose the
game,” Yuuichirou said and grabbed a fry of her own, preparing to throw it at
Mikaela.

Mikaela missed, causing her to pout.

“Do it again.”

Yuuichirou obeys and throws another one. This time, it landed directly in
Mikaela’s mouth.

Mikaela cheered quietly, giggling; she reached for a fry.

Yuuichirou caught every single one Mikaela could throw at her.

 “How are you doing that?”

“Doing what?”

“ That , You’re scarily good at this, I’ve missed like five times in a row, and
you haven’t missed a single one,” The blonde complained and huffed
frustratedly.

“I told you, I’m a good catch,” Yuuichirou shrugged, picking up her burger and
taking a large bite out of it.

“You’re sure are a real catch,” Mikaela said under her breath and froze,
realizing she said that aloud. She really hoped Yuuichirou didn’t hear that.

“What?” Yuuichirou tilted her head to the side and raised an eyebrow.

“Nothing.”

“But-”

“ It’s nothing, Promise,” Mikaela insisted, interrupting what Yuuichirou was
about to say.

Yuuichirou knew not to intrude past that. Though, she couldn’t help but be
curious as to what Mikaela might have said.

“Okay,” Yuuichirou breathed and stayed silent as she finished her burger-
- crumpling up the wrapper it came in when she had finished.

“Do you want the rest of my fries?” Mikaela asked, sliding the tray closer to
Yuuichirou.

“You sure?”

“Yea, go ahead, the chicken was enough for me.”

Mikaela offered a soft smile to the other girl and placed her hands in her lap.

Yuuichirou’s heart fluttered, seeing the smile on the blonde’s face. Mikaela
was far too cute for her own good. She could hardly breathe.

She must have looked like she couldn’t either, because Mikaela’s smile faded
and she looked at Yuuichirou in concern.

“Are you alright?” Mikaela asked with a tilt of her head.

Yuuichirou nodded, all too quickly, and held up her thumb.

“Just fine, I get I’m just a little nervous about the party is all, nothing
big.”

“Ah, I understand.”

Yuuichirou hummed nervously and shoveled a bunch of fries into her mouth. That
way she would have an excuse not to talk.

“I promise I’ll try to stick next to you so I can stay out of trouble,” Mikaela
promised, trying to offer a reassuring smile

It was cute that Mikaela thought this was the reason she might have been
nervous. If only she really knew just how she felt about her best friend.

“Alright.”

Yuuichirou finished off the fries all too quickly and Mikaela excused herself
to the bathroom so she could go before they went to the party. As well as to
fix her lipstick. It was dark-cherry red and did absolutely nothing to help
with the fact that Yuuichirou already wanted to kiss the blonde without
lipstick. In fact, it made things worse.

After throwing away their trash, she sat back down as she waited for Mikaela.
Then, she pulled out her phone.

Yuu: Mika is going to kill me. I swear.

Shinoa: lol rip. What’d she do?

Yuu: exist?

Shinoa: that’s very descriptive, lol. She coming to the party tonight?

Yuu: ya

Shinoa: well then that’s your chance. Tell her how you feel.

Yuu: she’s gonna be drinking. I don’t want to confess to her when she’s not
sober. Plus she just got out of a relationship? I can’t do that to her.

Shinoa: boo. Good luck with your gay dying then.

Yuu: you’re no help

Before she could read what Shinoa had responded with, Mikaela returned,
lipstick intact.

“Ready?” She asked and offered a soft smile to the dark-haired girl.

“Definitely.”

Yuuichirou stood and linked arms with Mikaela as they walked out to the car.
She even went as far as to open the door for Mikaela.

“Thank you,” Mikaela said, climbing inside of Yuuichirou’s car.

“It’s my pleasure,” Yuuchirou said, shutting the door before for she proceeded
to walk around to the other side to get in. She locked the doors behind her,
once they were both in.

“Here we go,” Yuuichirou breathed and then started the car.

Tonight was going to be a rather eventful night, she could feel it.

Arriving at the party, Yuuichirou pulled to the side of the street and parked.

She held Mikaela’s door open once again after shutting off the car and running
around to the blonde’s side of the car.

“Thank you, again.”

Yuuichirou nodded and led her inside. She made sure her car was locked behind
her.

She reached up, rubbing her temples as they walked in. The loud music thumping
in her ears. It was nothing she couldn’t handle after a while of being in the
house. Considering that it was certainly going to be a long night for the both
of them.

If only she knew what it had in store for her.

“Yuu!” Someone called and Yuuichirou looked around curiously for the source of
the voice, while Mikaela continued on. Presumably to start drinking.

It was Yoichi, she soon found out, who called out to her.

“I'm glad you made it!” She slurred, and offered the brightest smile she could
muster. Clearly, she had already drinking.

“I'm glad I could come too,” She said, though her eyes were searching through
the crowd of people for her friend who she had lost already instead of focusing
on the person who was just trying to talk to her. This wasn't good.

“Come, come, you should come say hi to your teammates, they’ve been waiting for
you to get here,” She giggled and grabbed Yuuichirou’s arm, dragging her clear
into another room.

This really wasn't good.

As Mikaela slammed back another shot, she sighed.

Knowing she had lost Yuuichirou in the crowd, she felt nervous; and therefore
felt the need to get drunk quicker.

She immediately regretted it, hearing two long whistles.

Her eyes widened, and she gripped the shot glass in her hand tightly.

“Mika, Mika, you are certainly quite the drinker, aren’t you?” Ferid’s voice
practically cooed. Mikaela threw her head back again, downing the shot.

“Only for certain occasions,” She muttered, but gasped as she felt Ferid’s body
press up against her own, his hands snaking around her.

“Got some time to spare with me, baby?” He cooed in her ear, hands trailing
along her thighs and under her skirt.

“You’re drunk.”

“So? You’re bound to be too, baby, with the way you’re downing those shots at
least, I promise I’ll be gentle.”

“Oh! Get some!” A voice shouted from the distance. It only proved to spur the
guy on. Mikaela could only stand there, frozen in place as she leaned against a
counter for support.

“I broke up with you.”

“I forgive you, baby,” He slurred, as if Mikaela had been apologizing. And she
hadn’t.

“That's not what I meant,” She murmured, swallowing thickly.

“You’re mine,” Ferid said, and spun her around, pulling her away from the
counter, and then pushing her up against the fridge doors in an instant. It
made her dizzy. Like she wanted to puke. Both because of the alcohol, and
because he made her sick.

Then he leaned in, bringing his lips to her neck to bite and suck at the skin.

And then he bit her .

That was it for her. If nobody else was going to help her, she was going to
take things into her own hands, which she should have done from the beginning.

Mikaela placed her hands on his chest, and shoved him as hard as she was able.

He stumbled backward, backing into the kitchen counter.

“Fuck you, Ferid Bathory, I do not belong to you, and never have belonged to
you, We’re over, and you are not allowed to touch me anymore, Eat shit,” She
spat and grabbed a bottle of unopened vodka before storming out of the kitchen,
ignoring the wave of verbal complaints about how she had ruined their “show.”

“Pigs,” She grumbled and searched around trying to find Yuuichirou. And when
she did, she almost cried in relief. She took a long swig before wrapping her
arms around her friend from behind.

Yuuichirou jumped but when she realized who she was, she relaxed a bit

“You okay?” Yuuichirou asked.

“Whether or not I’m okay is honestly debatable,” Mikaela answered honestly,
pressing her forehead to the back of Yuuichirou’s neck.

“What happened, Mika?” Yuuichirou’s voice was serious as she turned around,
placing a finger under Mikaela’s chin so she would look at her.

“Ferid.”

“What did Ferid do?”

“He tried to force himself on me,” Mikaela answered, words a tad slurred
followed by a sniffle. “And people cheered him on.”

Yuuichirou’s blood was boiling.

“I’m going to kick his ass,” She said, furrowing her eyebrows together.

Mikaela pursed her lips, but allowed Yuuichirou to pull away and guide her to
the couch.

“Stay here, okay?”

Mikaela nodded and Yuuichirou stood up, looking to Lacus, and Kimizuki.

“Right guys, Ferid has got to go,” She said, and gestured for them to follow
her to the kitchen, where Ferid had stayed.

“What’d he do?” Lacus asked, concerned by Yuuichirou’s angry demeanor. She
didn’t usually get this pissed, and Lacus had no idea what was going on, but
whatever it was, it wasn’t good.

“He tried to force himself on Mika,” she explained, and when they caught sight
of him, he was at it again. This time, the girl was even more intoxicated than
Mikaela had been.

“Party’s over, asshole,” Yuuichirou spat, crossing her arms over her chest.

Ferid pulled away from the girl and she stumbled away from his grip, muttering
something under her breath.

“What do you mean, party’s over? I thought we were just getting started,” He
said in a sing-song voice that made Yuuichirou’s face contort in anger even
more.

“It means get out,” Lacus said. She now understood the situation perfectly. The
football team had a reputation for being jocks, but just because they were
jocks, they weren’t going to just ignore the fact that Ferid was trying to
force himself on women who were very clearly drunk. They weren’t going to allow
him to do this kind of thing to people.

“Why are you guys punishing me when they very clearly wanted to have sex with
me,” He scoffed, and took another shot. Yuuichirou reached out and pulled the
alcohol away from his grasp. If he was being kicked out, he couldn’t take
advantage of their free alcohol.

“Then why did Mika come to me, practically in tears, because you were trying to
force yourself on her.”

“Because she wanted attention? She was practically begging for me to touch
her.”

Yuuichirou rubbed her temples, annoyed. She really wanted to sock this dude
right in the face, but she restrained herself.

“You know what, you can believe your own fucked up lies all you want, but that
doesn’t change the fact that you are now officially kicked out.” She snapped
slightly. “You, and anyone else that thinks that what you did is okay can leave
yourselves, or you can have someone help you out.”

It was Kimizuki’s turn to talk and she stood sternly.

Ferid scowled at the three of them. But despite his anger, he, as well as a few
others who were keen on defending Ferid’s actions turned to leave.

But before Ferid could walk out the door, Yuuichirou gripped his shirt, pulling
him close.

“I swear to god, if you ever try to touch Mika, or literally anyone else like
that again, I will personally chop your dick off, and feed it to you.” She
whispered threateningly.

With that, Yuuichirou shoved the man away from her and out the door, giving him
the nastiest look she could muster. She wanted to put her hands in boiling
water just touching the man for a mere few seconds.

Yuuichirou left the others a second to go check on Mikaela.

She found the blonde there, chatting with Yoichi, half-filled vodka bottle in
hand.

Slowly, she leaned down and placed her hand on Mikaela’s knee.

Once Mikaela noticed Yuuichirou, she gasped, surprised, and dropped the bottle
of vodka, thrusting herself forward to wrap her arms around Yuuichirou’s
shoulders.

“Yuu-chan!” She chimed excitedly, practically tackling the other girl to the
ground. It was clear that she was very drunk.

“Hey, you alright?” Yuuichirou asked and sat up, helping Mikaela to sit up as
well, allowing the drunk blonde to sit in her lap.

“Couldn’t be better,” she giggled and hiccupped before pulling herself closer
to the other female.

“Ferid was kicked out, so you shouldn’t have to worry about him anymore,”
Yuuichirou said, brushing Mikaela’s hair back from her face, fingers lingering
against the blonde’s cheek for a moment longer than she probably should have.

“Mmm, good,” She hummed, clamping her hands on Yuuichirou’s cheeks.

“Yuu-chan?”

Yuuichirou swallowed, nervous.

“Yes?”

“I wanna tell you something,” Mikaela said and then looked around. “Not… not
here though.”

Yuuichirou nodded and allowed Mikaela to climb off of her, leading her to a
more secluded area of the house. Anxiety rose in the back of her throat. Trying
to ignore it, she gave a brief squeeze to Mikaela’s hand. Mikaela returned it.

Finding a room that wasn’t occupied by some couple that was having sex was
difficult or doing other things but they eventually found a room that was empty
and locked themselves in.

Mikaela sat on the bed and patted the spot next to her. Yuuichirou sat down
beside the blonde.

“Yuu-chan, I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while,” Mikaela paused,
swallowing down her nausea. Maybe jumping on Yuuichirou hadn’t been the best
idea.

As if noticing this, Yuuichirou grabbed a nearby trash can and brought it
closer. Sometimes, Mikaela swore that Yuuichirou knew her better than herself.
Her drunk mind wanted to insist that she was fine. That she could keep the bile
rising in her throat down. She just wanted to get through this drunken
confession, because it was the only way she could actually manage to go through
with it, but the more anxious she was, the more she wanted to throw up.

Wanting to try and sooth the blond, Yuuichirou reached out and slowly rubbed
Mikaela’s back.

But with the butterflies in her stomach, it only made things worse.

“I- I’ve wanted to tell you, that I’ve liked you a lot... I only just realized
that it's not just a friend thing, and you probably think I’m stupid but, but-”
She couldn’t continue at that point, and she leaned over, grabbing the trash
can to empty the contents of her stomach into it. Yuuichirou was quick to
gather all of her hair and hold it back with one hand, rubbing her back with
her other.

“That’s it, Let it out hun,” She cooed, and leaned over, kissing the top of
Mikaela’s head. “We’ll talk about this later, okay? When you’re sober, I’m
going to take you home.”

Mikaela nodded and sniffled before setting the trash can down.

Yuuichirou left for a moment to get a blanket from the hall closet. She wrapped
the blonde in it before picking her up in her arms.

“Is Mika okay?” Lacus asked as she carried the drunk girl downstairs.

“She’s wasted, and she threw up in the guest bedroom’s trash can, I’ll give the
blanket back to you and buy you lunch to make up for the puke,” Yuuichirou
explained, sighing in relief when Lacus nodded.

“Yeah, it’s no biggy, just make sure she drinks some water and gets home safe.”

Yuuichirou agreed and made her way outside, which proved to be particularly
difficult, but she managed to take the girl outside and placed her in her car.

Then came the easy part.

She glanced over at Mikaela, all bundled up in her passenger seat.

“Yuu-chan.”

“Yeah?”

Yuuichirou glanced over at the blond when she was at a stoplight, only to find
that Mikaela was looking at her.

“Thank you, I like you.”

Yuuichirou licked her lips, and looked back at the road.

“I like you too,” she said, hands clutching the steering wheel tightly.

“No, I mean I like you,” Mikaela clarifies, and Yuuichirou sighs.

Mikaela’s trying to confess to her all over again

Shit.

“I do too… you, I mean, I like you too but you’re drunk and we shouldn’t be
having this conversation,” Yuuichirou breathed. They were getting closer and
closer to her house and Yuuichirou thanked god for that.

“I don’t know how to tell you otherwise,” Mikaela whined and sat back in her
seat, looking down at her lap.

Yuuichirou sighed.

“Well, we’re going to talk about it in the morning, when you’re sober because I
don’t want to really do anything more unless you’re sober.” Yuuichirou
explained as she pulled into their driveway and into the garage.

The conversation ended there as Yuuichirou carried Mikaela into the house
before setting Mikaela on her bed.

“You can borrow whatever clothes you want, I’m going to go get you some water,
you should drink some before you go to bed.” Yuuichirou said and before she
could leave to get the water she had said she was going to get, Mikaela reached
out and gripped her arm.

“Wait.” Mikaela looked at her, pleading.

“Yeah?”

Mikaela took a deep breath before speaking.

“Sleep in the bed with me.”

It was a simple request and yet one with a lot of heaviness applied to it,
after the situation with Mikaela confessing to her.

But with Mikaela giving her that look of hers, Yuuichirou finally sighed,
defeated, and nodded.

It was then that Mikaela finally let her arm go.

Yuuichirou left for some time. Not only to get the water for Mikaela, but to
get her bearings together as well.

The burden of knowing just how Mikaela felt about her was a heavy one to bear.

After a moment, she returned to her room. Mikaela was thankfully still awake
and sitting up. She had on a large sweatshirt of hers, with no pants.
Yuuichirou let out a soft laugh. She didn’t blame the blonde for wanting to
sleep in her underwear.

“Here,” She said, extending the glass towards the blonde.

“Thanks,” Mikaela murmured and brought the glass to her lips, taking a few
small sips.

Yuuichirou hummed and turned, changing into pajama shorts and a loose t-shirt.
She didn’t even bother with a bra. They just caused problems when it came to
sleeping in them. Then, she climbed into bed beside the blonde.

By then, Mikaela has finished the glass of water and had set it to the side.

“C’mere,” Yuuichirou mumbled, laying on her side and extending her arms
outwards. Mikaela complied, scooting herself forward. She let her head rest
against Yuuichirou’s chest, one arm draped over the other girl’s side.

“Night,” Mikaela whispered before ultimately falling asleep.

“Goodnight,” Yuuichirou whispers, kissing the top of Mikaela’s head.

And she too fell asleep.

__________

When Mikaela woke up, her headache was minimal, which was a relief. Though, she
realized that she was the first one to wake up. Since Yuuichirou had been so
kind to not only make her breakfast, but also take care of her the night
before, she decided to get up and head to the kitchen. Though she made sure to
brush her teeth first since her mouth still tasted like bile. It was while she
was cooking something that what she had said the previous night really started
to set in.

“Why am I like this,” she mumbled to herself, pressing start on the microwave
for the second round of cooking she had left.

“Why are you like what?” Yuuichirou asked groggily, rubbing her eyes.

Mikaela yelped and spun around, face feeling hot.

“Thank god, it’s only you,” Mikaela sighed in relief, setting down the spoon
she had been clutching.

“Who else would it be?” Yuuichirou asked, slightly amused. She quirked an
eyebrow at the blonde.

“I don’t know, an intruder?” Mikaela shrugged. It was the only logical thing
she could think of.

“A ghost?” With that, Yuuichirou smirked and wiggled her fingers in a spooky
gesture before sitting down. “You know this house is totally haunted.”

Mikaela huffed.

“I don’t want to think about a ghost watching me cook in my underwear.”

“Then don’t.”

So she didn’t, and instead thought about things that really felt as if they
were a lot worse than a spiritual entity watching her while she was basically
half naked. She thought about all the things she had done last night. Really,
it surprised her that after everything, she hadn’t tried to kiss the dark-
haired female.

It was probably because the threw up her chances of doing so that night into
that trash can.

Every second that the microwave continued to run, cooking the lasagna she had
put in, felt like agony.

When the lasagna was finished, she scooped two pieces onto two different
plates. She handed one to Yuuichirou before taking her own.

They ate in silence, until they both had finished and they cleaned everything
up.

Mikaela went to leave the room but before she could go anywhere, Yuuichirou
took her arm and spun her around.

“We need to talk,” She said, voice serious as she tugged Mikaela closer. She
could see how much the blonde wanted to turn tail and run away. But she
couldn’t allow herself to run anymore. They needed to talk about things. They
needed to figure out where exactly they stood with one another.

“Shit...”

“Shit indeed, I don’t really want to talk about it either, but it’s necessary.”

Mikaela pursed her lips and let out a soft sigh through her nose.

Yuuichirou led Mikaela to the couches and sat down.

“Do you remember much about last night?” Yuuichirou asked simply.

“I remember Ferid and what he did, drinking with Yoichi, and… confessing to
you, ” Mikaela admitted, crossing her legs and placing her hands in her lap.
She felt really embarrassed about how much of a mess she had become in such a
short amount of time. But she was also glad that Yuuichirou had taken her home
when she did. She would have only embarrassed herself more had she stayed
longer. “The car ride home is… kinda fuzzy but other than that I think I
remember almost everything.”

“I see.”

Yuuichirou stayed silent for a moment, thinking over her words.

“Did you mean it?” She asks.

“Mean what?”

“That you liked me… as more than a friend that is.”

Mikaela pursed her lips, refusing to look up at her or even say a word for a
full minute. Yuuichirou’s heart pounded in her chest as she waited anxiously.

“Yes, I did.” Mikaela admitted, finally. She ran her fingers through her
slightly tangled hair. “I meant every word.”

“I did too, in the car, you confessed to me again, and I said that I liked you
in return.” Yuuichirou inclined her head a bit as she explained. “I meant that
and I still mean it .”

Mikaela couldn't breathe.

“Really?” She whispered, looking to Yuuichirou after another second.

“Yes.” Yuuichirou nodded.

Biting down on her bottom lip, she moved a little bit closer, eyes skimming
over Yuuichirou’s lips. Though, she tried not to linger too long and be caught
staring.

“What are we?” She asked after a moment, before finally meeting Yuuichirou’s
eyes.

“I don't know, really, but I'm okay with that,” Yuuichirou paused, seeming to
think over what she was going to say next carefully. “Can I propose something?”

Mikaela nodded.

“How about, we go on with how we normally would, but with more romance, I
guess? We can even go on a date if you’d like, just to get used to the feeling
of us doing coupley stuff. And if you feel like at a certain time, you're not
feeling it, we won't pursue a relationship. But if you do like being together
romantically, then we can possibly give it a try. If you’d like?”

“I’d like that, yes.”

“Then.. it's settled.”

Mikaela felt as if her stomach did flips and she looked to her best friend
nervously. Yuuichirou looked back at her, hardly bothering to discreetly look
at Mikaela’s lips anymore.

Mikaela’s face may have still been covered with remnants of last night’s
makeup, but that did nothing to stop Yuuichirou’s desire to kiss the blonde. So
she leaned in, cupping Mikaela’s cheek.

“Can I kiss you?” She breathed but regretted it immediately, feeling as if she
had crossed the line with what she could and could not do.

“Yes.”

Yuuichirou was surprised. She froze, staring at Mikaela as shock formed over
her features.

“Really?”

“Yes, really,” Mikaela said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

When Yuuichirou didn’t move still, Mikaela proved to be the one to make the
first move, wrapping her arms around Yuuichirou’s shoulders before pulling her
in and pressing her friend’s lips to her own.

Yuuichirou was surprised for a moment, eyes widening, but she eventually
allowed her eyes to flutter shut. She wrapped her arms around the blonde’s
waist, pulling her onto her lap.

As the two of the pulled away to catch their breath, Mikaela let her forehead
rest against Yuuichirou’s

“Wow,” Yuuichirou breathed. She kept her hands glued to Mikaela’s waist. She
was afraid of moving them. She didn’t want to do anything that might make
Mikaela uncomfortable.

“Wow indeed.”

They kissed once more-- with Mikaela’s hands coming up to tangle in
Yuuichirou’s dark hair. The kiss was chaste and all too gentle. Nonetheless,
Mikaela relished in the feeling. The feeling of being so close to her and
having Yuuichirou kiss her back so gently.

It was all all too new experience to her, since Ferid was so focused on sex,
that he never took the time to really be gentle with her. Compared to
Yuuichirou, who was rather strong and yet handled her like she was glass,
Mikaela preferred Yuuichirou.

"You're beautiful," Yuuichirou breathed and pulled back from Mikaela's lips to
look at her.

"You flatter me... I probably look like a mess- I- I feel like a mess, I
mean, I didn't even take my makeup off last night, and I feel like I buried my
face in a greasy pizza and never took off my makeup."

"I don't care, you're still beautiful and I don't mean just on the outside….
you're the sweetest person I've met,” Yuuichirou said with a wide grin while
shaking her head a bit like she couldn’t believe that she was finally able to
kiss her, to be with her in a way that was more than friendship. She brought
a hand up to caress Mikaela’s cheek, running her thumb along Mikaela’s skin.

"Yuu-chan," Mikaela breathed, teeth nipping at her own bottom lip.

The amount of sweetness that had filled Yuuichirou's voice made tears brim at
the corner of her eyes.

"I mean it," Yuuichirou said. "I'm pretty sure I've liked you for years,
because you're just... amazing."

"I'm pretty sure I've liked you years too, even if I didn't realize it until
recently.” Mikaela laughed breathlessly. “I feel like a fool for not realizing
that I was totally head over heels for you sooner, but recently, all this stuff
with Ferid has made me realize that I don't think I like boys at all, I thought
I liked them, but really, I think it was just me trying to fit in and be
normal, but, I'm not what other people might consider to be normal and I think
I'm finally okay with that."

Mikaela gave another soft laugh as she realized that she had been rambling a
bit.

"Sorry, I was rambling," She said, her heart pounding in her chest; loud enough
for her to almost hear it in her ears.

"That's okay," Yuuichirou said, finger slipping under Mikaela's chin, coaxing
her closer so she could peck Mikaela's lips. "You're cute when you ramble."

Mikaela's face felt hot and she brought her hands up to cover her face.

"Let me see you," Yuuichirou frowned and reached for Mikaela's wrists. She
didn't pull at them, though.

"No," Mikaela mumbled behind her hands.

"Please?" Yuuichirou pushed her bottom lip out, giving Mikaela her best puppy
dog look. Not that Mikaela could really see it.

"Then you leave me no choice."

It was the only warning she gave, before her hands flew to Mikaela's sides, and
she started to tickle her.

Mikaela gasped, removing her hands from her face and instead placing her hands
on Yuuichirou's chest, trying to push herself away.

"Yuu-chan!" She gasped, squirmed on Yuuichirou's lap. She only squirmed more as
Yuuichirou flipped them over so Mikaela's back was against the couch cushions.
Yuuichirou hovered over her, fingers continuing their assault on the blonde's
sides.

"Don't hide from my affection," Yuuichirou chimed, but leaned down, her hands
pausing so she could lean in and peck Mikaela's lips. She took the blonde's
hands in her own, lacing their fingers together.

"You're so mean," Mikaela mumbled in between kisses and squeezed Yuuichirou's
hands with her own, eyes fluttering shut.

Things continued from there, with Mikaela's legs now wound around Yuuichirou's
hips, shirt pushed up halfway to her chest so Yuuichirou could feel her warm
skin.

As Yuuichirou nipped at Mikaela's bottom lip, causing her to let out a soft
whimper, someone cleared their throat from across the room.

Yuuichirou was off of Mikaela in an instant, looking over at Mahiru, who stood
in front of them, eyes wide. Mikaela, however, tried to cover herself with the
sweater she wore, to little avail.

"Well," Mahiru started. "This certainly wasn't what I expected to see when
coming home from a trip, but somehow, I'm not really surprised."

Both of the girl’s faces were entirely red.

"I am so sorry you had to see that," Yuuichirou mumbled, covering her face with
her hands.

"It's alright. I mean, I kinda figured I'd see something like this in my life,
with you being a teenager with raging hormones and all, and you being so
smitten for Mikaela." She reached over, grabbing a blanket that had been
discarded from the first night Mikaela slept over at Yuuichirou's house. She
then tossed it towards Mikaela, who caught it easily. "Use that to cover
yourself up. The boys luckily went straight upstairs and I bet you probably
don't want to have them see you in your underwear, Mika."

Mikaela wanted to cry at this. The last thing she wanted was Guren and Shinya
to see her in her underwear and a sweater. Sure she was comfortable with them,
but not that comfortable.

Pursing her lips, she wrapped the blanket around herself, effectively covering
herself up.

"Thank you so much," She said and bit her bottom lip.

"No problem," Mahiru said and looked in the direction of the stairs.

"You guys run upstairs and I’ll make sure to not mention this to Guren and
Shinya," Mahiru said, winking before she turned around, and headed into the
kitchen.

Yuuichirou picked Mikaela up in an instant and made her way up to her bedroom.
Once inside, she bumped the door closed with her hip before setting Mikaela
down on the bed as gently as she could before crawling onto it herself.

"Are you alright?" Yuuichirou asked, and reached out, trailing her fingertips
over the blonde's cheek.

"Yeah."

Mikaela's eyes seemed to argue with themselves on whether or not to look at
Yuuichirou's eyes, or her lips. Though, considering they had been caught making
out, she didn't want to risk being caught once again. Slowly, Mikaela
maneuvered herself from the blanket she had wrapping herself in and pulled on a
pair of sweatpants.

If anyone did come in, at least they wouldn't see her in her underwear this
time.

Yuuichirou watched as she pulled on those sweatpants, though she tried not to.

As Mikaela turned back around, Yuuichirou found herself unable to look away and
upon discovering that the dark-haired girl was staring at her, Mikaela's face
turned red once again.

Yet, she still moved closer to Yuuichirou until the other girl could lean
against her, pressing her cheek to the blonde's stomach.

"You're so beautiful," Yuuichirou whispered.

"You are too."

Mikaela's fingers ran through Yuuichirou's hair and she kissed the top of her
head.

"I'm so lucky to have you."

____

Mikaela paced in her room; back and forth, back and forth.

She was ready physically, but certainly not emotionally. It was her first date
and god was she nervous.

When Yuuichirou had asked her, it was when they snuck off together during lunch
one day to make out not-so shamelessly. They kept their relationship secret to
a lot of people, though a lot of people probably suspected them.

Not that Mikaela really cared all that much. They could suspect that they were
together, which they weren't officially, but they still kissed, among other
things.

****

"Will you go on a date with me?" Yuuichirou asked, and kissed her again, slow
and loving.

"I'd love to," Mikaela said, almost immediately. She brushed her fingers over
Yuuichirou's neck, eyes going back and forth between the dark-haired girl's
lips, and eyes. She had so much difficulty not staring at Yuuichirou's lips,
because really, she wanted to kiss her. A lot.

Yuuichirou perked up, and leaned forward, smashing their lips together. It was
poorly executed, and they ended up just clanking their teeth together.

"Ow. Shit, sorry," Yuuichirou apologized, gently kissing Mikaela's face in
order to try and make up for hurting the blonde.

"It's okay," At this, Mikaela giggled, and patted Yuuichirou's cheek.

****

Since , they planned things further and eventually settled on a date. That's
how Mikaela ended up there, pacing in her room as she waited for Yuuichirou to
get there.

"Mika!" Krul called from downstairs. "Yuu is here!"

Mikaela gave one last glance at herself before bolting out of her room, and
downstairs.

She took a deep breath before opening the door. There Yuuichirou was, with a
bouquet of flowers as well as a box of chocolates. The box was in the shape of
a heart.

Mikaela held her breath.

"Hey, um..." Yuuichirou paused before holding out the flowers to Mikaela.
"These are for you, I'm sorry.. that was not the best way to put that, I'm not
good at this romance thing, I guess."

Yuuichirou gave a nervous laugh and Mikaela took the flowers and chocolate.

“Thank you, Yuu-chan, they’re beautiful,” Mikaela said and pecked Yuuichirou’s
lips before stepping to the side. “Come in, I’ll go put these in a vase.”

“Right.”
Yuuichirou nodded and stepped inside, shutting the door behind her.

Mikaela turned and left for a moment to place the flowers in a large vase. As
she was gone, Krul approached her.

“I suppose I don’t have to tell you what I’ll do if you hurt her, do I?” She
asks and Yuuichirou stood up straight. She somewhat expected this talk but it
didn’t make her any less nervous about it.

“No, ma’am.” She spluttered and Krul snorts.

“Don’t call me ma’am just because I’m trying to intimidate you,” She said,
patting her shoulder. “Just make sure she gets home safe.. and by a reasonable
time.”

Yuuichirou nodded.

“Yes, of course.”

“Good.”

“What are you two talking about.” Mikaela chimed in, coming back into the room.
She looked at them both curiously.

“I threatened her.” Krul answered honestly, shrugging.

“Mom!”

“Don’t you ‘mom’ me, you’re my daughter and after Ferid’s antics, I feel like
if I don’t threaten them, they won’t remember that if they do something, I’ll
probably kill them.”

Mikaela sighed.

“Whatever floats your boat, we’re gonna get going now.” Mikaela said, giving
her a hug before opening up the front door so they could leave.

“Have fun! Be safe!” Krul called after them, waving until the minute they
pulled away. Like usual, Yuuichirou made sure to hold the car door open for
Mikaela.

Yuuichirou held Mikaela’s hand the entire ride to the drive-in movies. Though,
she made sure to put the top down so they could see better.

“You know,” Mikaela started, popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth. “I've
never been on a date, nor have I been to a drive-in movie.”

Yuuichirou looked over at the blond. Her heart fluttered a bit, learning that
this was the first time Mikaela had ever been on a date.

She was taking her first girlfriend ever on a date.

Yuuichirou was beyond excited about it.

“Really?” Yuuichirou finally asked.

“Yeah,” Mikaela admitted and shrugged her shoulders.

“Wow.”

It was all Yuuichirou could get out. But by the amazed look on Yuuichirou’s
face, she immediately interpreted it as a good “wow.”
They both turned their heads to the screen, occasionally glancing over at each
other. Since they were in the back seat, halfway through the movie, Mikaela
leaned against Yuuichirou, resting her head on the dark-haired girl’s shoulder.

Yuuichirou smiled down at the other girl before wrapping an arm around her. She
focused back on the movie after another second.

The movie itself was the least interesting thing about being out with Mikaela.
What was interesting, however, was whenever things would get tense, Mikaela
clung to her.

"Jesus why did I agree to a horror movie," Mikaela mumbled and buried her head
into the side of  Yuuichirou's chest.

"Because I suggested it and you're bad at saying no sometimes?" Yuuichirou
suggested with a shrug.

"Shit, you right," Mikaela snorted, jumping again not too long after when the
music got louder, suddenly, and somebody screamed.

"Don't worry, I've got you," Yuuichirou cooed and turned the radio down so the
sound was quieter before she slowly pulled Mikaela into her lap so she didn't
have to watch the screen.

"This is much better," Mikaela murmured, arms wrapping around Yuuichirou. She
laid her head in the crook of Yuuichirou's neck.

Yuuichirou gave a breathy laugh, kissing the side of Mikaela's head before she
continued to watch the movie.

"I'm sorry that I'm not really enjoying the movie, though."

Yuuichirou rubbed Mikaela's back in circles. Really, she didn't mind. Sure
Mikaela didn't want to watch the movie, but Yuuichirou was happy to be able to
hold the blonde. She hoped that what she had planned afterwards would be a
better option for the both of them. Since it didn't involve horror, and instead
involved a beautiful view as well as dinner.

"It's okay, I don't mind," Yuuichirou said.

"Are you sure?"

For a moment, Mikaela pulls back to look at Yuuichirou, biting her bottom lip
and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I'm sure, the movie is almost over anyways, then we can continue to the second
part of this date soon enough, that way you can enjoy it too."

Yuuichirou gave the blonde a reassuring smile and leaned forward to peck
Mikaela's lips.

"Okay," Mikaela breathed and leaned forward again, resting her head back on
Yuuichirou's shoulder. They stayed that way until the end of the movie.

"Alright, time to get up," Yuuichirou said, trying to pull Mikaela off, which
caused her to whine.

"I don't wanna," she groaned, clinging to Yuuichirou tighter.

"Well, if you don't want to, then I guess we'll just have to skip dinner,"
Yuuichirou joked.

Mikaela was off her in an instant, climbing into the passenger seat. Which
proved to be rather easy due to the roof of the car being down.

"Well? What are you waiting for?" Mikaela asked, turning in her seat to look at
the dark-haired girl.

Yuuichirou laughed, and climbed into the front seat as well. Then, she made her
way out of the drive-in.

"So? Where's dinner coming from?" Mikaela asked, and leaned her head back
against the seat.

"Well, I was thinking we could pick something up from your favorite restaurant,
and then head up the mountain and watch the sunset, in fact, I already called
it in when I said I was going to the bathroom earlier." Yuuichirou explained,
turning into the parking lot of said restaurant.

"Yuu-chan, you're the best, oh my god." Mikaela breathed and looked at her
excitedly.

"I know, I know." Yuuichirou joked and unbuckled her seat belt, turning off the
car before leaning over to peck Mikaela's cheek. "I'll be right back."

Mikaela nodded and settled back into her seat.

Yuuichirou wasn't in there long, luckily, and before long they were driving off
once again towards the mountain. The drive up was peaceful and Mikaela snacked
on parts of her food to hold herself off until the car came to a stop.

When they did, Yuuichirou put the top up and they leaned against the hood of
the car, eating and watching as the sun slowly sank towards the horizon.

"The sky looks beautiful tonight," Mikaela mumbled in between bites, gawking at
the sky, the once beautiful blue sky distorting into beautiful reds and oranges
that made it look like the sky was on fire.

"Not as beautiful as you, though," Yuuichirou blurted out, face flushed. She
immediately stuffed a big bite in her mouth and looked down at the ground,
embarrassed. She hadn't meant to say that, but it came out.

She really wished that her filter on her words that she usually had, actually
worked this time.

Mikaela's face was hot. She looked over at Yuuichirou.

"I think you mean not as beautiful as you," Mikaela said, trying to form a good
comeback to throw back at Yuuichirou. "You're gorgeous."

"Nuh uh," Yuuichirou stuck her tongue out at the blonde and took her last bite,
finishing up her food.

"Yeah huh!" Mikaela argued, taking another bite. She wasn't able to eat it all,
so she would leave the rest to take home and have for leftovers. She then
placed the plastic container in the car before returning to the front of the
car.

"Nope," Yuuichirou said and then took a few steps forward, wrapping her arms
around Mikaela's waist.

Mikaela huffed.

"You don't give up, do you?" She asked, arms coming up to wind around
Yuuichirou's neck, pulling her in closer.

"Nope," Yuuichirou said easily and leaned in, pressing a chaste kiss to
Mikaela's lips.

"You're impossible," Mikaela complained, yet still allowed herself to be backed
up against the hood of the car.

"Hell yeah I am."

"I guess watching the sunset is officially over," Mikaela remarked, as their
lips finally separated and the kisses became something more than just chaste.

"I guess so," Yuuichirou said, trailing kisses down Mikaela's neck, grazing her
teeth over Mikaela's collarbone.

Mikaela sighed, head tilting to the side, eyes fluttering shut.

Yuuichirou proceeded slowly, lifting Mikaela up so she was sitting on her car,
leaning back. When Yuuichirou started sucking on Mikaela's neck, however,
that's when Mikaela pushed on her chest a bit to get Yuuichirou's attention.

"Yuu-chan," She breathed, licking her lips as Yuuichirou pulled away to look
down at her.

"Yeah?" She questioned, pursing her lips. Did she do something wrong?

"Not here," Mikaela whispered. "Take me home?"

Yuuichirou almost tripped over herself, nodding and picking Mikaela up before
setting her in the passenger seat of her car carefully.

“Someone’s eager,” Mikaela teased, and looked over, smiling.

“I-I'm not I'm just…” Yuuichirou paused, pursing her lips. “Okay maybe I am.”

Yuuichirou laughed nervously and started the car, gripping the steering wheel
tight.

“I am too, but it’s alright, we’ll take it slow, okay?”

Yuuichirou nodded, reaching over to take Mikaela’s hand in her own.

“Right,” Yuuichirou breathed, eyes straining as she focused on the road ahead.

When they finally reached Mikaela’s home, Yuuichirou was was sweating, nervous
about what was to come.

Mikaela led them inside and up to her bedroom. Krul was already asleep, so they
had to be extra quiet.

Mikaela shut the door and locked it behind her.

“How…” Yuuichirou paused, letting out a shaky breath. “How are we going to do
this?” Yuuichirou asked and licked her lips nervously.

“Hm,” Mikaela hummed and guided Yuuichirou down onto the bed. “Honestly, I
don't know, but we’ll figure it out, yeah?”

Yuuichirou nodded, hands on Mikaela’s hips as she climbed onto the bed and
straddled the dark-haired girl.

“Yeah,” Yuuichirou breathed, biting her lip as she slipped her fingers under
Mikaela’s shirt, tugging it upwards.

“Do you want me to take it off?” Mikaela asks.

“Please?”

Yuuichirou’s expression is soft as she asks this, watching patiently for
Mikaela’s response.

“You can take it off if you want,” Mikaela said, holding up her arms for
Yuuichirou to take her shirt off.

Yuuichirou nods, swallowing thickly around the nervousness she felt. She then
drags her hands up, taking Mikaela’s shirt with them. Once it was removed,
Yuuichirou placed it to the side.

Yuuichirou had thought about this many times, but fantasy was different from
reality. She knew what she was doing and yet when Mikaela was stripped of most
of her clothing and she found her hand slipping down the from of the blonde’s
underwear to massage her clit, Yuuichirou was unsure if continuing was really
what she wanted.

She continued anyways, because seeing how Mikaela’s breath stuttered and how
she leaned forward to rest her forehead on Yuuichirou’s shoulder made her
happy. Because making Mikaela feel good made her feel good as well.

Or, she thought it did, at least.

Yuuichirou continued still, listening to Mikaela’s soft pants in her ear.

“Yuu-chan,” Mikaela breathed, hips pushing forward. Yuuichirou’s hand moved a
bit quicker, but she stayed still.

When Mikaela pulled away in order to look at Yuuichirou, Yuuichirou looked up
at her sheepishly. She’d been caught.

“Yuu-chan, pull your hand out,” Mikaela commanded. Yuuichirou’s reaction was
instantaneous, she pulled her hand out and placed it down on the bed.

“Are you okay?” Mikaela asked, frowning down at the other girl.

Yuuichirou shrugged.

“I was wanting to do this, but now… I don't really feel like it, I'm sorry,”
Yuuichirou apologized and diverted her gaze away from the blonde. Mikaela
placed a finger under Yuuichirou’s chin to make her look up at her.

“You don't have to apologize for changing your mind,” Mikaela said, reaching up
to place a hand on Yuuichirou’s cheek.

“I don’t?”

Mikaela shook her head, thumb skimming over Yuuichirou’s skin.

“No, you don’t, it’s perfectly okay to change your mind.”

Yuuichirou nodded and swallowed thickly.

“Can we cuddle instead, then?” Yuuichirou asked, pursing her lips as she looked
up at Mikaela.

“Of course, give me a sec,” Mikaela offered a soft smile to the other girl,
before rolling off the bed in order to put something more comfortable on.

Mikaela put a loose shirt on before getting into bed beside Yuuichirou. They
lay there with Yuuichirou’s head resting on the blonde’s chest, listening to
her heartbeat.

As they lay together, fingers intertwined, Yuuichirou brought up the courage to
ask Mikaela something she’d wanted to ask her from the beginning of going out
with the blonde. She was nervous, but after a little internal pep talk and
taking a deep breath to calm herself, she decided that now was the time to do
this.

“Mika?” She asked, looking up at Mikaela, who was already half-asleep.

“Hm?” Mikaela hummed, fingers twirling around a strand of Yuuichirou’s hair.

“Can I ask you something?”

“Yeah what is it?” Mikaela asked, and glanced down at Yuuichirou.

“Will you,” Yuuichirou paused to let out a shaky breath. “Will you do me the
honor of being my girlfriend?”

Mikaela gasped, softly, and held one of her hands over her mouth.

“Yes,” She rasped, not being able to help the smile that pulled at the corners
of her lips.

Yuuichirou could take it anymore, and she wiggled herself up, pressing her lips
to Mikaela’s with a sigh of content. Her lips pulled into a smile, unable to
help it.

Mikaela’s answer was the same, years later when Yuuichirou asked her to marry
her.
